Hello Friends,
We greet you in the name of Christ our Lord! We trust you had a great summer with a chance to get away for some holiday and relax time. Our summer was filled with services, family time, and travel. We have not been home in our own beds much, but we feel privileged to do all that God has afforded us in these last 3 months.
One of the highlights of the summer was traveling back to Springfield MO. to participate in School of Missions. Here is a picture of Elliott and his chief during School of Missions.
It was a wonderful time of renewal, regional studies, and reconnecting with missionary friends we havent seen for years because they have been scattered around the globe. One of the best events of School of Missions is the Missionary Kid program. It is one of the few times when MKs (Missionary Kids) do not feel the odd person out. Zachary was very excited to see Jojo a good friend who is a missionary kid in Japan. While back in the Midwest we also stopped in Erlanger Kentucky for services at Christs Chapel and to be with Debbies sister and her family during the 4th of July.
During the summer we had many opportunities to share our calling and ministry to Botswana. We met wonderful new friends at Lake Stevens Assembly and at Mountain View Assembly in East Wenatchee. It was a special time of ministry at Richland Assembly of God as the whole family traveled with me and each one got a chance to share a portion of a childrens ministry service. It was so cool to hear Hannah, Zach, and Elliott share their favorite things about living in Botswana and share about the call of God with other kids. Before school started back up we made a quick trip to California to be in service with our good friends at Porterville First assembly and Tulare First Assembly.
We are a little more than half of the way through our itineration cycle. All of the churches that we have shared in over the last 8 months have been extremely generous and welcoming. We have sensed Gods presence and touch in each of the services. I pray that our ministry has energized and impassioned the local church for the mission at home and abroad.
We are more convinced than ever of our calling and need to be in Botswana. At this point we are near 85% of our monthly financial need, which translates to about $1500 more monthly needed before we are cleared to head back to Botswana. We trust the Lord to bring this in by the end of the year so we can be in Botswana by February of 2010. Please contact me via our website or email address if you would like to make an increase to your monthly commitment or make a special onetime gift toward this need.
Thank you so much for you partnership in world missions. Your commitment and sacrifice is recognized by us, but more especially by God.
We appreciate you and your faithfulness.
Serving together,
Mann Family
